My favorite charity is Compassion International. These guys help children (food, education, medicine, as well as spiritual
development) living in poverty stricken areas of thrid world countries. If you ever felt the desire to do something to help,
this is the organization to work with. It's fun to receive letters from your children to see how they are doing,
what progress they are making in school, and how you are impacting their lives. Compassion International is a top charity,
fully accountable for their finances to independent third party audits (ECFA). They do not exploit the children like some
organizations by displaying heart wrenching pictures to make you feel bad or appeal to emotions. Nor do they waste ANY money
on expensive national television advertising (like those horribe Sally Struthers commercials). Most of their sponsors come
from word of mouth, positive reviews from major magazines like Money magazine, and through free advertising by Churches, Christian
musicians or other events.
I encourage you to get involved and make a difference in the life of a child who needs
help. This is a simple way for just about anyone to make a real difference in the world and a positive impact on someone's
life.
